DETAILED PROGRAMME
Day 01: Arrive Manali
Arrive Kullu airport, meet on arrival and transfer to your hotel in Manali. Morning free. Afternoon we assemble at the hotel for a small briefing about the tour and then we meet our Royal friend – The Himalayan. Later we take you on a test ride to Naggar Castle and Roerich Art Gallery. Ride back to your hotel for a relaxed evening. Overnight at hotel.
***Delhi to Manali have overnight Volvo bus service, if you wish we can book you for overnight journey to Manali & will pick you up from Manali bus stand in morning.
Day 02: Manali/ Jibhi (100 kms/ 4 hrs)
Morning after breakfast we start our Motorbike adventure. On your Royal Enfield bikes from Manali to Tirthan Valley. Ride from Manali on NH 21 crossing Kullu town and after crossing tunnel at Aut, we turn to enter Tirthan valley. We ride along Tirthan river to reach Banjar from where it’s an uphill ride to reach Jibhi, our destination for the night. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Jibhi / Kalpa (200 kms/ 7 hrs)
We start our ride in morning, climbing up and crossing over Jalori Pass (3140 m) from where on a clear day a long necklace of Himalayan Range can be viewed including peaks of Kullu region like Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba etc. We now descend down towards Satluj valley. We ride crossing Rampur and continue riding Satluj valley, entering Kinnaur and head to Recong Peo the main town of Kinnaur region and climb up to Kalpa village. Kalpa village is located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. On arrival check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Kalpa/ Nako/ Tabo (190 kms/ 6 hrs)
Another day of an interesting ride. Its exciting riding the narrow Satluj valley till Khab where Satluj river meets Spiti river and this points is also the reference where we enter the Spiti valley. We ascend upto Nako village, the last among Kinnauri villages located on banks of a small lake. We walk around village and later continue further towards Tabo. Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing gompa. Overnight at Guest House in Tabo
Day 05: Tabo/ Dhankar/ Pin Valley/ Kaza (105 kms/ 06-07 hrs)
Today we ride around Spiti valley, exploring the mesmerizing landscape, varied colors
of mountains and remote villages & gompas. We start our ride in morning towards
Dhankar village & monastery. This Monastery at Dhankar rests high over the valley
and is a stupendous example of local architecture. It is regarded to have once been a
fort and was also the residence of the ruler of Spiti – the Nano. We ride further towards
Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. We end the day on reaching Kaza,
the main town of Spiti valley. Evening free to explore Kaza town and make some noise
“ride hard, party hard”. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: In Kaza – Touch the Sky
Morning we ride to visit Comic which is among the World’s Highest permanently
inhabited village and then later visit Hikim boasting of World’s Highest Post office &
Langza village located in backdrop of Chao Chao Kang Nilda Peak. Evening free to
explore Kaza town & market. Overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Kaza/ Kunzam Pass/ Jispa (200 kms/ 7 hrs)
Morning we start yet another day of fantastic scenic views across Spiti valley. We cross Chichim Bridge which is the highest Bridge in Asia. What a ride is going to be from here onwards, hold your breaths to ride into the Himalayas. From Chichim we ride towards Losar which is the last Spiti village and from here start the ascend towards Kunzam Pass (4558 m) which lies on main Great Himalayan Range. We get beautiful views of CB ranges and continue further across Chandra valley providing charming scenic views and exciting ride. We ride through the trans Himalayan region crossing Batal, Chatru entering into Lahaul valley. From Gramphoo we continue through Lahaul valley crossing several village likes Sissu, Gondla, Tandi, Keylong, Gemur to Jispa. We check in at the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08: Jispa/ Baralacha La/ Tsokar (225 kms/ 6 hrs)
On your bikes from Jispa to Sarchu enroute crossing Darcha and over Baralachala Pass (4800 m). We ride across Sarchu plains and start ascend on Gatta Loops which is set of 18 hairpin bends to Naki La from where we cross another pass Lachung La and crossing Moore plains to reach Tsokar Lake. On arrival check in at camp. Evening free to walk around the lake and you may chance upon sight of rare endangered Black Necked Crane or the Tibetan Ass. Overnight in Camp with fixed huts.
Day 09: Tsokar/ Leh (150 kms/4 hrs)
After enjoying our breakfast we start our ride with ascend to Tanglang La pass (5328 m) and a lovely ride down to Upshi to enter Indus valley and further to Leh riding along the river. Arrive the ancient town of Leh. Check in at hotel. Evening free to enjoy a walk around Leh market or visit the Leh Palace or enjoy sunset from Shanti Stupa. Overnight at hotel.
Day 10: In Leh – explore & acclimatise
Relax after the hard riding across Trans Himalayan region and take it slowly to explore Leh town (3500 m). Spending a full day at this altitude before pushing higher gives your body time to adjust — this day is key to your acclimatization, ensuring you ride in the best shape to reach Umling La, the world's highest motorable pass at 5798 m. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Leh/ Pangong Lake (160 kms/ 5 hrs)
Morning we start our ride towards Pangong lake enroute visiting Thiksey monastery and crossing Chang La (5160 m). Arrive Pangong (4250 m), which is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake. Overnight in camp with fixed huts.
Day 12: Pangong/ Hanle (185 kms/ 5 hrs)
After breakfast we start our ride on banks of Pangong Lake, a breath-taking ride with stunning views of the lake. We ride further deeper into Himalayas crossing the famed battle grounds of 1962 Indo China war, crossing villages of Tsaga and Chushul. Enroute also visit the Warm memorial at Rezang La, built in memory of ferocious battle of Indian soldiers who showed exemplary bravery. Major Shaitan Singh was awarded Param Vir Chakra, the highest gallantry award of India for this battle in 1962. We ride along the Indus river to Loma from where we enter the Tibetan plains leading us to Hanle. Hanle village which is rated as the best place for astronomy observations and has an ISRO observatory. We stay overnight at a local homestay and relax to be ready for an exciting day ahead.
Day 13: In Hanle – scale Umling La **highest pass in World
Morning we start our ride taking a dirt road for 30 kms, riding across a vast Tibetan plateau and then scaling a mountain pass. We ride down from here to Chisumle from where our ascend to Umling La starts. We reach the top of Umling La, having the distinction of being the highest motorable pass in the World, 5798 m. We click many pictures and spend a little time at the top and then to ride down towards Chisumle and then back to Hanle for overnight.
****Ming La is the new Highest Pass which is yet not open for tourists. On this day of your being in Hanle if its open we ride to Ming La instead of Umling La.
Day 14: Hanle/ Nyoma/ Leh (280 kms/ 7 hrs)
After breakfast we ride back to Loma from where we follow the course of river Indus down towards Leh town. A pleasure & exciting ride with mesmerising views all around. On arrival in Leh, check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Depart Leh
Intime transfer to Leh airport to connect flight to Delhi. End of tour.
