Heritage Motor Bike Tour (Chandigarh Dep.)

This is a 8 days/ 7 nights tour to Himachal Pradesh where we travel to some of the best known places of the hill state, meandering our ways across hills & mountain terrain on our Royal Enfield and exploring the Heritage & Culture of this region. We stay at most of places in Heritage hotels. We start our tour from Nalagarh, climbing up Shivalik hills to Shimla which was once the capital of British India. From here we travel to Dharamshala which is now the seat of Tibetan Government in Exile and abode of His Holiness The Dalai Lama. On our journey from Shimla we enjoy overnight stays at heritage hotels in Mandi & Taragarh and cross several picturesque points, villages, temples, monasteries and cheerful people. From Dharamshala we trace more of Kangra Valley visiting a Fort, rock cut temples to the Heritage Village of Pragpur. Towards the end of tour we ride to the holy city of Amritsar which is famous for the Golden Temple.

Detailed Programme

Day 01: Arrive Chandigarh/ Nalagarh (65 kms/ 2 hrs)
Meet on arrival at Chandigarh station or airport and transfer by car to Hotel Nalagarh Palace / Nalagarh. We spend the afternoon relaxing and taking possession of our Royal Enfield bikes and the enthusiastic ones can drive around the town. Overnight at hotel

Day 02: Nalagarh/ Shimla (120 kms/ 5 hrs)
After breakfast drive on our Royal Enfield to from Nalagarh to Shimla. On arrival in Shimla check in at Hotel Woodville Palace. Rest of the day is spent walking around the Shimla town – the much famous The Mall & The Ridge. One can also ride and visit the Vice Regal Lodge, the building which was once the home to The Viceroy of India.

Day 03: Shimla/ Mandi (191 kms/ 6 - 7 hrs)
After breakfast drive on our Royal Enfield to Mandi crossing through Naldehra, Tatapani, Chindi to reach Mandi. On arrival in Mandi we check in at Hotel Raj Mahal. Evening we walk around the colorful market and also visit some old temples on the banks of river Beas. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Mandi/ Taragarh (90 kms/ 4-5 hrs)
After breakfast drive on your Royal Enfield bike from Mandi to Taragarh via visiting Bir & Sherbaling Monasteries and also visit beautiful old Vaidyanath temple at Baijnath. On arrival check in at Hotel Taragarh Palace. Evening you have an option to walk or ride to Tashijong monastery visiting the Gompa and the village. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05: Taragarh/ Dharamshala (50 kms/ 2-3 hrs)
After breakfast at hotel ride to Mc Leodganj which is also known as The Little Lhasa and is home to His Holiness The Dalai Lama. Mc Leodganj has colorful lines of small shops selling steaming hot momos, Tibetan artifacts and numerous other things. While in Mcleodganj ride around visiting The Dalai Lama temple, Bhagsunag temple and St John’s Church. Later we check in for an overnight at Norling Guest House which is part of complex of Norbulingka Institute or at Blossom Village Resort located near Norbulingka Institute.

Day 06: Dharamshala/ Pragpur (75 kms/ 3-4 hrs)
Ride through the glorious past of Kangra valley covering Kangra town, Brajeshwari Devi temple (optional), Raja Sansar Chand Museum, Kangra Fort and Masrur rock cut temples. Ride across the countryside to the heritage village of Pragpur. On arrival check in at Hotel The Judges Cour. Evening free for exploring & walking around the heritage village of Pragpur. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07: Pragpur/ Amritsar (186 kms/ 6-7 hrs)
After breakfast ride to the fertile plains of Punjab to the Holy city of Amritsar. On arrival check in at Hotel Ritz Plaza. Evening we visit the Golden temple. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08: Depart Amritsar
We bid farewell to our companions The Royal Enfields, carrying fond memories & promise to meet again
and are transferred to the railway station to connect a train back to Delhi.

The above rates include the following as:

• Accommodation in mentioned or similar hotels on twin sharing basis. Check in/ out time is 12 noon
• Bed & breakfast basis in Nalagarh, Shimla, Mandi, Dharamshala, Pragpur & Amritsar.
• MAP (room + breakfast & dinner) at Taragarh only
• One back up van (utility or pick up jeep for spare parts / baggage etc.)
• One Enfield Motorcycle per rider and gas charges strictly as per the above itinerary (from day 02 onward as per the tour chosen till day 07), for any extra driving the clients have to pay directly at spot
• One Motorbike Mechanic for the entire tour
• Basic spares for the motorcycles (any damage/ change of spares payable as extra directly)
• Accompanied co - coordinator for the entire tour (not riding motorbike)
• Arrival & departure transfers by large car/ tempo
• Entrances to place of visit (camera fee donot include)
• Presently applicable taxes

Cost Does Not Include

Any airfare/ train fare, any other meal than mentioned in itinerary, any personal or travel Insurance, tips, gratuities, portage, laundry, telephone calls, table drinks or any other expenses of personal nature, any item not specified under cost inclusions.
